Back in Black

Classic monochrome outfit inspiration for when your not feeling creative or motivated to get dressed….

Last week we celebrated a sweet friend’s birthday. We all decided to wear her favorite outfit - black on black (we looked like a cool girl gang)! I was deciding what to wear and was surprised by the number of outfit options I had to choose from (I am a very black-grey-neutral wardrobe person), thus the inspiration for this post. Some of the items I have had for a while. I have linked things similar in feel below. Hope this helps inspire some new outfits and gets us through the last few months of winter!

I really love these faux leather look leggings. I’m sure most of you have a pair by now. I like the chunky boots played off of the oversized blazer. Gives it a little edge (plus its still a bit cold for heels!). This backpack purse is great to carry as a handbag or with the straps when you want to be handsfree, or when you have more things than can fit in your sling bag….Links below.

I wore this outfit a few weeks ago to another good friend’s night out birthday celebration. Wide leg and high waisted grey or black jeans paired with a classic black cropped shirt. I added pointed toe booties (to make it look sophisticated vs sloppy) and my favorite (faux) leather jacket for those transitional weather days. Links below.

This was the exact outfit I wore last week (see pic at the end). I feel like everything in this outfit is a staple and I wear it all the time. Classic jean jacket in grey, velvet leggings, good flat boots for walking around, black lightweight blouse you can wear tucked or untucked, the gold teardrop earrings I have been wearing for months, and a classic black tote - for shopping - of course. I really love pairing unexpected pieces together, like classic black pants and a sheer top. This outfit has lightweight pleated trousers and a belt mixed with a short sleeve sheer top.
